The Television Mini-Series

"Little House on the Prairie" ran for nine seasons, letting viewers follow the Ingalls family and the town of Walnut Grove through an epic series of misfortunes and blessings. All good things, however, must come to an end — and "Little House" was no different. "Little House on the Prairie" had Michael Landon's stamp on it from the beginning, and he exerted a lot of creative control over the show — so much, in fact, that he reportedly drove away Ed Friendly, his co-executive producer. In a 1974 interview with People, Friendly complained that Landon had no business being a writer or producer.

Charles and Almanzo also oppose it, even though they believe in equality and joint ownership in their own marriages.

A crushed Laura prays with the Reverend for Charles to find the strength for them to somehow stay in Walnut Grove. Meanwhile, Mary and John are discovering they have feelings for each other. Laura has a crush on a new boy in school named Johnny Johnson, an older student in her class (Mitch Vogel) but Johnny only wants to be her friend, while he is romantically attracted to Mary who has no interest in him. Laura's jealousy leads to her accusing Mary of deliberately encouraging Johnny and they fall out. Caroline and Charles both have quiet talks with Laura to restore harmony in the family.
